Hemorrhoid Grading System

Grade I: Mild

Internal hemorrhoids that bleed but do not prolapse. Usually painless and may not require treatment beyond lifestyle changes.

Grade II: Moderate

Hemorrhoids that prolapse during straining but return spontaneously. May require minimal intervention like rubber band ligation.

Grade III: Severe

Hemorrhoids that prolapse during straining and require manual reduction. Often painful and may need surgical treatment.

Grade IV: Very Severe

Hemorrhoids that are permanently prolapsed and cannot be reduced. Require immediate surgical intervention.
