Accurate Diagnosis
of Prolapse

We diagnose not just *what* is falling, but *why*. Identifying if it's the bladder, uterus, or rectum ensures the right surgery.

Diagnostic Tests

Essential

Pelvic Examination

The doctor will examine you while lying down and standing. You may be asked to cough (Valsalva) to see how far the organ drops.

Gold Standard

Dynamic MRI Defecography

An advanced scan where you mimic straining inside the MRI machine. It shows hidden prolapses that are missed on physical exams.

Urinary

Bladder Function Test

Urodynamics test to check if the bladder empties fully or if there is hidden incontinence.

Imaging

Ultrasound

To check for kidney swelling (hydronephrosis) which can happen if the prolapse blocks the ureters.

Director's Interview

What is MRI Defecography?

Seeing the Invisible

"Many patients have 'Obstructed Defecation' which only shows up on dynamic scans. This test changes the surgical plan completely."

Dr. Jaya explains why a regular MRI isn't enough. We need to see the organs *moving* while you strain to catch rectal prolapse or hidden intussusception.

Why Test?

A bladder prolapse (Cystocele) looks very similar to a uterine prolapse. Diagnosis ensures we repair the correct compartment.
