Risks &
Complications

Every surgery carries some risk. However, the risk of **NOT treating** a hernia (Strangulation) is far greater than the risk of surgery.

Possible Complications

Infection

Rare (<1%). We use sterile mesh and antibiotics to prevent this.

Seroma (Fluid)

Fluid collection at the site. Usually absorbs on its own.

Chronic Pain

Nerve irritation from mesh. Modern lightweight mesh reduces this risk.

Recurrence

Hernia coming back. Very low with Mesh Repair (1-2%).

Director's Interview

Is Mesh Safe?

Addressing Concerns

"Modern meshes are biocompatible. The body accepts them as a scaffold to strengthen the muscle wall."

Dr. Jaya Maheshwari talks about the safety of modern surgical meshes and how they have reduced recurrence rates significantly.
